When the city is on standstill, nature invites itself in.

Borrowing from Piranesi's vision, where the opulence of Mother Nature thrives in tableaux abandoned by man. To mark the entrances to the site, provide integrated seating and shaded areas, the scenographic layout draws on the contrast between the raw materials of reconstruction and the sensibility of concrete, schematized plant life.

Biophilic patterns

The plant motifs developed unify the various interventions and radiate through the play of light and shade.

By prioritizing the use of low-storage-volume rental structure systems and a selection of endemic plants, The Hanging Gardens reinforce the sustainable character of Montreal's Quartier des Spectacles, and become a collection of scenic devices that the Festivals can adopt as their own.
